FAQs

All accommodation is accessed by foot, via a woodland path. A member of the SVE team will transport your luggage in our quad trailer and deliver it direct to your Den door.

No, the cost of fishing is included in your stay.

Secret Valley Escapes is a site that is aimed at guests who want to relax and explore.

All our accommodation is self-contained, and we don’t have a bar facility.

We are a quiet site after 10.30pm.

Yes!

One of the unique things about SVE is that if you book both Dens you have exclusive access to the site.

The site rules do remain in place and we cannot allow groups of teenagers or young adults without a parent or carer – please see our T&Cs for more information on group bookings

We ask all guests to keep noise to a minimum between 10.30pm and 7.00am. This is to respect all our neighbours, both human and animal!

Due to our woodland location and proximity to moorland, we cannot allow open fires or disposable BBQs.

Instead each Den has it’s own Solo Stove Fire Pit and which you can also cook on.

Wood for this will be supplied and if you need additional wood during your stay, this can be purchased on site for a small fee.

We kindly ask you do not forage for your own wood as this can damage the stove and natural habitats on site.

Yes! 2 pets are allowed per den. All we ask is that they are kept on a lead at all times on site (we have lots of wildlife roaming free!) and you clean up after them to make the site safe for everyone else

The welcome letter you receive with your confirmation gives a few ideas of what you might want to pack for your stay.

Our top 4 items are:

A torch – there is limited light on site on the paths and walkways so if you do wish to go out for an evening stroll you will definitely need a torch!

Warm Clothing – We love our location, but being in Yorkshire, you can experience all weather conditions within the space of a day!

Shoes suitable for the outdoors – The site is made up of woodland, fields and streams and as such the surfaces can be uneven and slippy when it has rained.

Towels – all bedding and bed linen is provided, but we do ask that you bring your own towels.

Unfortunately our site isn’t suitable for guests with mobility issues. The Dens are located at the top of the site and involve walking along a path with steps and an incline. Surfaces are also uneven in places.

We are looking into how we can make the site more accessible in the future and working with our LA planning team to try and put things in place.

We want all guests to enjoy their stay and we have no issue with low level music as long as this is outside of quiet times and doesn’t bother other guests on site

At SVE we want you to have the freedom and space to enjoy your stay. With that in mind we have kept guest accommodation to a minimum.

Day guests may be allowed, depending on the number of people we have on site. Please speak to one of the team for more information.
